MAKING THE WORLD more BEAUTIFUL, one ROOM AT A TIME
Step01
INITIAL CONSULTATION
Every project begins with a consultation, which can be conducted in-person or virtually via Zoom. During this meeting, we will discuss your project goals and clearly define what we are aiming to achieve. I will inquire about the existing conditions of your space, how the areas are used, and dive deeper into your functional and stylistic preferences, as well as ballpark budget.
Step02
DESIGN PROPOSAL AND FEES
Following the initial consultation, I will provide a detailed proposal outlining the scope of services, the estimated number of hours and an anticipated start week and schedule breakdown. I can bill either on an hourly basis or lump sum in addition to a sourcing fee, which is applied to the trade pricing for all goods and services. A retainer is requested in order to lock in a start date. Pricing ranges depending on size of the project, as well as options and phasing required. I will create a customized package that is tailored to your specific needs.
Once the proposal is accepted, we provide a formal contract for signature and deposit.
Step03
CONCEPT PHASE
Once the proposal letter is signed and returned, we will begin the design process. During this phase, we will assess the possibility of reusing existing architectural and construction elements, such as lighting fixtures, plumbing fixtures, and millwork. We will also finalize which personal items may be incorporated into the design if requested. I will visit your home or site for accurate measurements and photo documentation. If necessary, I may also arrange for trades to visit for estimation purposes.
I will then create digital presentations and sketches, including floor plans for furniture layout and material selections, to showcase the initial design concepts. Additional elements like lighting, fabrics, millwork, and tile design may also be proposed, allowing you to visualize how the new space will come together.
At this stage, we will also identify any additional trades needed for the project and carefully consider the budget and timeline.
Step04
DESIGN PHASE
Once the design concept direction is approved by the client, final selections for furniture, materials, and items will be made and presented for final approval. Design boards will be created, featuring images and material samples to help you visualize the final product. Any additional trade proposals will be collected and reviewed before finalizing the overall design. Finalizing the design concept is a detailed process that may take several weeks, depending on the scope of the project.
An estimated budget is provided based on the design and materials approved. Once the budget is approved, final design proposals are prepared for signature and payment. Timely approval of the design is essential to lock in accurate pricing and secure availability. Once everything is approved and finalized, we can move forward with executing the design.
Step05
EXECUTION PHASE
Good project management is the key to success. This includes overseeing the purchasing process, inspecting the items, scheduling deliveries, and coordinating installations. Pre- and post-construction meetings, along with on-site visits during construction will be held to ensure the design is executed flawlessly. Detailed schedules will be created for each room and item, which will be regularly updated and emailed to keep the client informed every step of the way.
Step06
COMPLETION PHASE
All merchandise will be delivered and installed as planned. Any final touches, accessories, and details needed to complete the space will be arranged. A final walkthrough will be conducted to ensure everything meets expectations, and a punch list will be prepared if needed.
"Leave the midnight floor-pacing to me. I will obsess over the details and examine every inch of your space to ensure that its not only picture-perfect but also wonderfully livable."
